Stump Grinding and Removal

squirrel on tree stump
Stump grinding is a great affordable solution for stump removal and tree eradication compared to digging. Digging does remove roots as well as the stump itself and this can be beneficial to property owners. We provide the service of grinding using a high-grade professional grinding tool that is able to mulch the stump. This mulch can be used around your property or removed upon request. Digging out the stump is more extensive and can be labor intensive. Our professionals are equipped with the proper safety gear and tools to accomplish this job within a reasonable timeline. Both of these techniques have shown success when eliminating the regrowth of the tree. Taking away the leaves and stump will stunt any growth potential that was present.

Grinding
Stump grinding sounds a little scary, it sounds like an extensive and intensive process that is invasive. No matter what it sounds like, the truth is that grinding is a step that actually avoids a more invasive process! Following the initial cutting down of the tree the remaining stump can be removed using this technique. The grinder will take the large piece and grind it into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces can be used for other landscaping purposes in your property! Mulch is a great covering for various areas of your property.

Will Grinding Kill the Tree?
The short answer is yes! Trees need the nutrients that are infused by the leaves into the stump and eventually into the roots. After the removal and grinding of the stump, the tree will no longer be able to acquire the nutrients necessary for growth and in turn it will die. If the stump is left without being ground, regrowth can occur. Removing this possibility is the best option for property owners who are not interested in the tree regenerating.

Digging
This method of stump removal can be more labor intensive and cost more than the option of grinding. Digging up the ground will have to be done along the roots and the stump. You must pull the roots and remove the stump. If this is the preferred option our team at BTS is able to successfully and efficiently remove with allocated manpower and proper high-grade tools. Your stump, if left, will regenerate and sprout new growth. To avoid this and essentially kill the tree, digging to remove can ensure eradication.

Which Method is Better?
This is absolutely based on personal preference! There are price differences between the two methods and either can be utilized on your stump. For more information or to inquire on which method would be best used on your stump confer with our tree experts. We will be honest and truthful in any recommendation. We are sure that your stump needs can be met with a service that we provide. We love grinding for the ease of this process; the elimination of digging is a great advantage to homeowners. Digging is preferred if the stump and roots must be completely removed.
